• What: Temporary preschool summer camp assistant teaching position

  • Location: 731 Peachtree Street NE, 30308

  • When:

    • Staff hours 8:30-1:30 PM; school/student hours 9AM-1PM

    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

    • Weeks of June 6-8,13-15, July 11-13, 25-27

    • When emailing, specify weeks of interest. Number of weeks you would work are flexible but would most prefer people committing to a week at a time (vs. a day here or there).

  • Pay: $12-16/hour - dependent on background and training between.

  • Preference given to those fluent or semi-fluent in German.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily care of students and operation and instruction of classroom.

  • Assist with implementation of a developmentally appropriate preschool summer program that meets the needs of the whole child (physical, social/emotional, cognitive).

  • Communicate effectively with teachers and children.

  • Provide a nurturing, safe, and secure environment for all children; mMonitor and ensure safety at all times.

  • Help establish and maintain routines.

  • Collaborate and cooperate with staff.

  • Implement positive discipline strategies to guide children in their social/emotional growth.

  • Maintain communication with lead teacher(s).

  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

  • Promote positive image of the preschool in the community.

  • Help keep classrooms and children clean and organized.

  • Be self-directed and a self-starter: willing and able to take initiative to seek help and advice if needed from preschool leaders and to do what needs to be done without necessarily needing to be directed.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Pass a national background check (cost covered) or provide director with a background check form from within the last year.

  • We are in a ministry of a church (Lutheran Church of the Redeemer) and although we do not require Christianity as a faith background of our staff, we do require you to be respectful of our practice of praying before meals and that being the foundation of the environment of our school. Our curriculum is not faith-driven but does sometimes pull in aspects of our beliefs and spirituality. We are a community that strives to welcome all but do request the same respect back.
